Boot fitting

Cotswold offer a specialist boot fitting service in-store. Trained staff are able to measure and assess your feet before recommending footwear suitable for your needs. They offer Superfeet footbeds and can modify some types of footwear if standard fit is not correct. If preferred, you can phone the store on 02890 665003 and book an appointment (please note that we are unable to book appointments for the weekend).
Cotswold are also able to help modify the fit of your existing walking boots. Arrange an appointment with either John, Lesley or Peter for a consultation about the fit of your boots.
Consultations & modifications are free to the customer; however materials used (if required) will be charged.

An excellent present for a walker.

Most walkers like their maps.  Many of us have drawers full of O.S. maps and a frantic search is often required before we go walking.  Some of us have GPS units,  but suitable software and downloadable maps are scarce and hard to find at the right price.
A firm might appears to have the answers is “QUO ”. 
“QUO ”   have an attractive, easily navigated website from which mapping software and a basic map can be downloaded free. In particular they market Irish maps which many other companies do not.       
I think you will like what you see.   “QUO ” have 50K maps for all of the UK and 50K Irish maps also, at reasonable prices compared to other similar products.

             
Believe it or not , rambling is generally considered quite a high risk activity and obtaining  individual insurance can be quite costly . Rambling clubs seeking to obtain their own group cover would be surprised at the expense.  It seems that rambling as an activity has been loaded because of poor claims experience by insurers .Countryside Recreation have a policy to provide an indemnity to private landowners, on whose lands the Waymarked ways and the Ulster Way cross.

 Ideally all individuals who are using the Waymarked ways and the Ulster Way, should have their own personal liability cover to protect them from being sued by the landowner.  
 Club Insurance
It is of vital importance that all Clubs walking in the countryside protect themselves against the disastrous consequences of liability for injury or damage arising out of their actions and this includes the actions of all executive officials, members and volunteers.  Such officials and members at all levels could find themselves held personally responsible for court costs and damages awarded where an action has been brought against the club for negligence and it is essential that adequate liability cover is arranged to avoid such consequences.

Clubs affiliated to UFRC may obtain Civil Liability Insurance at a favourable rate from Perkins Slade Limited.  Phone their Sports Department on 0121 698 8050 for further details
