Welcome Walk & BBQ (Example for club use)

Come and enjoy a walk & BBQ with ‘Example Walking Club’ in the picturesque Mourne Mountains. A fantastic event for those looking to experience for themselves the fun and social atmosphere of walking as part of a club.

Date: Sat 30th Sept 2017
Time: 10am to 6pm
Location: Mourne Mountains, Starting/Finishing at Meelmore Lodge
Length of Walk: 3hr including rough ground and  a distance of 9km

‘Example Walking Club’ invite you to join them for their first Welcome Walk & BBQ on Sat 30th Sept 2017, a walk in the Mournes tailored specifically for those who are new to hill walking or considering joining a club. Whether you come along with a friend or come on your own a warm welcome awaits (we really are a sociable bunch!). The walk will be lead by two experienced walk leaders from the club and will last 3hrs. During the walk you will gain an introduction to geocaching and get and interesting insight into the local flora and fauna. The Walk will conclude at Meelmore Lodge where the club while meet together for a BBQ.

Spaces are limited to 12 people and expected to fill up fast. Places should be reserved no later than Friday 15th September.

This event is part of the Ulster Federation of Rambling Clubs (UFRC) Open Weekend.

What to bring: Warm clothes, hill walking boots, waterproofs, backpack with a packed lunch and water
Suitability: Walkers must be aged over 18 yrs
